Pinerolo Council and TOROC inaugurated the Palacurling (training stadium) in Viale Grande Torino on Saturday 30 October 2004.

Pinerolo had been the Olympic host city for all the Curling competitions scheduled in the Olympic calendar of Torino 2006 and of 2007 Winter Universiade.

The Palacurling had been managed by the ‘Sporting Club Pinerolo’ which carried out promotional projects for curling, in particular two initiatives of great interest:

  • "Sport in schools: Curling" with the main objective of promoting curling among the students of the area, creating interest and enthusiasm towards this discipline through direct involvement.
  • "Promotion of competitive and amateur curling" with the main aim of promoting this sport among the population of the area, as well as creating both competitive and amateur groups organized in independent Curling Clubs.
